The Memory Surgeon

There値l come a time
to keep my appointment
with the memory surgeon.

He can leave my recollections
of illness, fear,
pain and humiliation
so long as you池e removed.

Then you値l become a stranger
who I値l pass by;
not wanting introduction.

How happy that would be.

But the memory surgeon
sadly shakes his head:
He tells me
you have grown
as madly as a tumour
touching all my memories.

Though he resisted,
insisting danger,
I persisted -
you値l be that stranger.

Then soon, with genes,
They値l regenerate my brain
and I値l not know you
or remember any pain.
