Biography



Graham Roos made his TV debut at the age of four and his theatre debut three years later at Theatre Royal, Lincoln. In 1981 he won the Art Scholarship to Rugby School. After studying at The Great Eastern Stage, he went to Buckingham University, reading English and History, where he wrote and directed his first play A Study in Self Indulgence. Settling in London in 1989 he has worked as voice over artist, lecturer and broadcaster.

His career has spanned the media of poetry, theatre, music, film and art. An acclaimed poet he has appeared on national and local television and has been nominated for awards such as The Somerset Maugham Prize and The Dennis Potter Screenwriting Award.His first book, Rave, was published by Oberon Books in 1998. He can currently be found performing as guest poet at Home House, and was a finalist in the 2001 UK poetry championships sponsored by Farrago Poetry. Quest (2004) his experimental CD of spoken word and music features the voices of Fenella Fielding, Peter Wyngarde, James Dreyfus, Martin Hancock and Sam Fox with music from Friends Lovers and Family.

Editor and co-founder of the award winning magazine Large(UK) he is published by Oberon Books (NT) and has performed his work at Riverside Studios, The ICA, The Southwark Playhouse, The Groucho Club, The Chelsea Arts club and The Poetry cafe.
Television work includes the BBC, Live TV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. His poem, commissioned for the 21st birthday of Joshua Nunn - son of Janet Suzman and Trevor Nunn, was performed by Trevor Nunn in 2002.Poetry Advisor to Di Trevis on Pinter's Production of Time Regained at The National he has performed via the internet to audiences in New York and San Francisco and can currently be found performing at venues throughout the country.A life long interest in the paranormal led him to be appointed Secretary to the Society for Psychical Research where he devised an exhibition on parapsychology for The Royal Institute - a first in this discipline. Subsequently he was presenter on the BBC's Ghostwatch in 1997 from Bealieu Abbey.An acclaimed tarot reader he is currently creating a set of images based on the Tarot Hero for an exciting new deck.Graham is a member of Equity.
